To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.

The Brain Dynamics Lab, led by Dr. Andrea Protzner, studies how brain dynamics are linked to variations in cognitive capacity and how neural networks change using modern neuroimaging techniques.

THE RESEARCH

Our research goal is to build a framework that links cognitive integrity with neural dynamics and to provide a coherent understanding of how cognition emerges from brain operations in neurotypical individuals and in individuals with mental health conditions.

THE TEAM

We are a group of diverse, curious and dedicated researchers sharing the common motivation to better understand the brain.

The theoretical basis for our research stems from the concept of degeneracy. The notion of degeneracy in the brain seems counterintuitive - find out why this is possible.
